Final rally report

William Stobart lived up to his number one seeding by taking a well-earned victory in today's Stobart Rail Pendragon Stages.
Stobart and co-driver Andy Richardson finishes the fourteen stages in Warcop and Lowther 61 seconds ahead of second-placed Neil Wearden and Kevin Parkinson.
The former factory Vauxhall driver snatched the runner-up position on the very last stage when Steven Hogg, who had been lying second, collected a puncture on Toddygill 2.
Hogg and co-driver Phil Short had no option but to stop and change the tyre, and then got caught behind a slower car and then collecting a stage maximum at one of the splits dropped him down the leader board to 22nd position.
Wearden was aided by a shrewd tyre choice: swapping to full wets just before the heavens opened on Warcop.
Stobart expressed his satisfaction at taking back-to-back wins on the event - and bringing his Ford Focus WRC back in one piece, saying:
"I'm very happy. Everything went OK for us today."
A  hard-charging Dougi Hall, who fell victim to a puncture himself, clawed his way back to third.
With almost half the field going on during the day - including an amazing 22 on the first stage alone - anyone making it to the finish could be justly pleased with their achievements.
